Weekend exploring in CarytownAfter writing so much and explaining and comparing a lot of things to what it was back in England, I feel like I should leisurely write about my adventurous weekend! Just a few memorable things to mention, me and Harry (I've mentioned him in a post not so far ago// reference to his blog here: www.harrydawsonweeklydailyblog.weebly.com ) have started an egg painting collection. Due to the eggs being white here in the shops and us being artists, we started drawing on them because it is funny and interesting. We just recently started but here are some pictures and don't think that there are not going to be future updates on the topic: So, about Carytown Part of what makes Carytown so unique are the countless boutique shops lining the street – just about any type of store you can imagine! From designer thrift stores such as Clementine to music stores like Plan9 Records; from home décor at Urban Interiors to spas and fitness studios like Yoga Source; from culinary shops such as Ladles & Linens to quirky gift shops like Mongrel. It all adds up to a neighborhood voted Best Shopping Neighborhood in Virginia by Southern Living Magazine! About 10 minutes away with Uber and 30-40 minutes away walking distance, Carytown showed me typical American shops, designer shops, craft shops and different restaurants. It was really nice having a stroll down the road and going from shop to shop exploring and finding amazing and interesting things new to me and my tastes! Ironically to all the nice places to sit and eat I choose McDonald's because I was interested to try the REAL one, the American McDonald's. It wasn't as exciting as thought it was. The interior looks like what it looked like back in the old days in my country. English and German Mc Donald's are way more nice. Anyway, it was an experience worth experiencing! Next time it will be a fancy restaurant! Along side all the places to eat there was one particular shop that caught my eye: The candy/ weird sodas/ Japanese sweets shop. It was amazingly colorful and sold so many interesting and bizarre things. From sweets, candy, chocolate to Poky, Japanese little toys and very weird sodas- Black Cherry soda, Martian soda, Grass soda, Bacon soda and etc. I am surely going to go back there again because my eyes could have seen even half of it, even though I spend at least 15 minutes inside! Of course I bought things from there: There were many interesting shops and things to see @Carytown! I will surely be going there again!!
