I participated in one of the most popular game design/develpmet jams ever- GLOBAL GAME JAM Yeah, you heard me. I was there, I participated, I designed and I jammed! (For more information on what GGJ is- read HERE) News article: HERE Facebook page: HERE Official page: HERE SCHEDULE: Friday Januyary 20: 7PM- Keynote with Tom Fulp, Newgrounds.com (everyone is welcome!) 8PM- Global Gam Jam Begins and We Announce Secret Theme Form Teams of developers, designers, musicians etc. Get to work! 10pm- Venue closes for the night. Saturday January 21: 10AM- Venue opens - Light breakfast provided. Tom Fulp - office hours- Consult with a bonafide indie game expert. Keep working on your games 6PM- Venue closes for the night Sunday January 22: 12PM- Venue opens. Keep working! 8PM- Free Pizza Party - Invite your friends and fam. Come check out everyone's new games! Show & Tell. So, as you can tell from the schedule, we had 48 hours to make a working game. For me this is a completely new experience- I have never dealt with anything to do with games except playing them. Only recently I had started to show an interest in game design as a whole but going to a game jam... and making a working game... in 48 hours.. that was a bold decisions... but it turned out to me the perfect one! I learned so much and I had an amazing time!! My role in the team was the designer (one of the 3 designers). I did a whole level- the objects that interfere with the character's completion of the game, the backgrounds, an animated playable character and I also designed the main menu and buttons for the whole game!
